The good fight (Q&A)

 

1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

Q - What Is a good fight?

A - Well the good fight is Paul saying to Timothy that he should always try hard to do everything which is right in the sight of the Lord! Since Paul is following that rule in his life he also wants to pass it on to Timothy whom he loves as his own son! He is saying to Timothy that he should never lose hope and to try hard for every single thing for the Lord!

Q - How to keep in fighting the good fight?

A - 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” We can see that Paul has had faith in the Lord from the very beginning (the time he started to fight the good fight.) So all we need to do is to try hard and believe in our Lord that He will help us. And then continue to fight the good fight!

Q - How to take hold of eternal life?

A - If we want to take hold of eternal life we have to fight for it. And this is not a fight with Rifles, pistols, AK-47’s in warfare. Be we have to fight with faith, the armor of God, etc against all the wicked men. We have to believe in Christ and fight spiritual warfare. A Christian man is like a soldier fighting for his/her country except for Christian warfare he fought against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places!

Q - Who should we help?

A - We should help those who follow the world and not Christ! The people who invest in worldly things and not spiritual things: and its goal is to help all of these kinds of people and other non-believers too. We should help them to put their hope in our Lord and God and not false gods.
