Why are we in this world ?
Many times we may question ourselves thinking “why are we in this world?” The scripture shows us that we are called to preach the Word Of God. So we need to share His Word more and more to make our Lord happy. When we share the Word to our friends and they show very little interest we should not give up as Jesus already predicted that not everyone will receive His word with open hearts. Some seeds fall on rocky grounds , while others on thorny bushes and only few fall on the good soil to produce fruit!
Praying
We all definitely pray and know how to pray but what do we pray for?
Most of us pray for our family, cousins, work/ school, financial issues etc. These topics are important but what about the other people in our lives. Do we pray for our brethren enough or are we more concerned about our personal needs?
Matthew 6:5-8 says, “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
Matthew 6:5 talks about how the hypocrites pray (just for show and their prayer is not really meant from the heart), while on the other hand Matthew 6:6-8 talks about how we should pray in a room with the door closed and to pray for only the things we really need and for others, for the Lord already know’s what we want.
Reading
Reading the word of God equips us with knowledge and how to defend ourselves against the devil. So we need to ensure to spend ample time daily to equip our spiritual selves with His Word.
Preaching
Preaching is one of the most important things and that will reward us a big crown in Heaven. Because Jesus commanded us to Go preach the Gospel to all nations. So how do we even start? In our daily lives by slowly sharing good concepts from the Bible to our school friends or colleagues is a very gentle & light way to begin. We don’t necessarily always need to have a a stage and podium to share the Word. Once we speak the Lord will do the rest. Whatever we do for God is recorded in Heaven.
Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
This above verse says that Jesus has all the authority in Heaven and on earth. He is then telling us that we should go preach the Word of God in the name of Jesus and God. Jesus also said that he is with us and will be with us till the end of our lives.
Being a Missionary
Jesus wants more workers in his vineyard. A lot of the missionaries are being persecuted and tortured. We need to pray for them everyday and also strive to be a worker in Gods chosen place where He wants us to be. There are still so many places where the Word of God has not yet reached the ears of many people and God is waiting for one of us to carry His Word there.
God bless,
Joshua
